Lampstand founder addresses Rotary Club of Chilliwack Fraser

CHILLIWACK, B.C. — Lampstand founder John Manoah was the invited speaker at today's meeting of the Rotary Club of Chilliwack Fraser, delivering a talk titled "From Bangalore to a Backyard Garden" to an audience of local business and community leaders at the Chilliwack Curling Club.

The talk traced Manoah's path from fifteen years in Bangalore's software industry to founding two Chilliwack ventures that align with new federal strategies: Lampstand School of AI Transformation, which answers the national AI for All strategy's goal of raising business AI adoption from roughly 12 percent toward 60 percent by 2034, and The Boaz Club, a farming-as-a-service venture aligned with the National Food Security Strategy's $750 million investment in year-round greenhouse growing.

Manoah invited local business owners to nominate an employee for AI training, noting that the B.C. Employer Training Grant can reimburse eligible employers up to 80 percent of training costs. "Every technology wave has pioneers and whiners," he told the room. "Chilliwack has everything it needs to be on the right side of this one."
